Nursery

The Nursery Program at Kidz Creative Corner includes children 6 weeks to 15 months of age. Infants grow fast and the care and needs of a 2 month old versus a 15 month old are very much different. For that reason we have created 2 separate classrooms for older and younger infants. The infant caregivers provide a safe, nurturing and consistent environment for the children, along with numerous opportunities for enrichment activities throughout the day. Activities are planned to enhance infant development in all areas:

      * Gross and Fine Motor
      * Cognitive
      * Social
      * Emotional
      * Language ( Including Sign Language)

Daily communication between parents and caregivers is strongly encouraged. An individual daily report is sent home detailing each infant and toddler’s day, including feeding, changing, naps and supply needs. Also each Baby will receive a Portfolio with Milestones in Development and cute pictures documenting their activities. We encourage parents to call anytime with questions and concerns. We want to make this first transition away from home as easy as possible for you and your child.

Two Year Old

Our 2 year olds enjoy a curriculum based on a variety of weekly themes, including:

      * Colors
      * Five Senses
      * All About Me
      * Shapes
      * Old MacDonald’s Farm

We focus on encouraging language development skills. During circle times, the children sing about the days of the week and the months of the year. They review colors, shapes and numbers daily, along with learning to recognize their written name and other common words.
The children explore art, music, sensory activities and exercise their motor skills in a variety of developmentally appropriate small and large group activities. The children enjoy making their own color, number and shape books. An important accomplishment for the older 2’s is learning self-help skills including toilet training, dressing themselves and developing self-confidence and a positive self-image.

Preschool

Our 3-4 year olds enjoy a theme-based curriculum which includes:

      * Alphabet
      * Numbers
      * Colors
      * Shapes
      * Hands-On Science
      * Summer Themes: Camping, The Ocean, Happy Birthday America

They are very busy learning the alphabet one letter at a time. Each week, beginning with “Aa”, the children learn all about the sound the letter makes, the upper and lower case forms of the letter, and create individual letter books.
Math skills are also enhanced with learning the numbers 0-30 and by creating individual number books. A variety of hands-on materials are used to teach math, science and writing skills. The children also choose activities from different learning centers in the classroom and practice using their large muscles while enjoying fun gross motor games and exercises.
Exploring art and music through small and large group activities are also included in the daily curriculum.
